Authenticity markers in habanero pepper (Capsicum chinense) by the quantification of mineral multielements through ICP-spectroscopy

نویسندگان

چکیده

The aim of this work was to determine in Capsicum chinense the 1) concentration heavy metals (Al, As, Cd, Pb), majority (Ca, K, Mg, Na) and essential (Cu, Fe, Mn, Se, Zn) mineral elements, 2) effects ripening stage, harvest number type soil on content 3) authenticity markers. Peppers grown black red soils Mayan region, were harvested two stages (ripe peppers [orange green peppers, respectivily]) four post-transplant dates: I (132 days, PTD), II (160PTD), III (209PTD) IV (265PTD). These samples analyzed by ICP-Spectroscopy. stage affected Al, Cu Zn contents ripe while As presented highest peppers. Harvests y Ca, K harvests Pb contents. Nine ten elements developed markers according maturation number, respectively. results obtained will help producers industrialists focused production agronomic management high quality habanero

Two new acyclic diterpene glycosides from fruits of Habanero, Capsicum chinense.

Four acyclic diterpene glycosides were extracted from Habanero, the fruits of Capsicum chinense JACQ., which is known as one of the hottest peppers in existence. Two of these glycosides were identified as capsianoside XIII and capsianoside XV. The other two were new ones and were characterized as 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl 17,19-dihydroxy-6E,10E,14Z-(3S)-geranyllina...

Mechanisms of salt tolerance in habanero pepper plants (Capsicum chinense Jacq.): Proline accumulation, ions dynamics and sodium root-shoot partition and compartmentation

Despite its economic relevance, little is known about salt tolerance mechanisms in pepper plants. To address this question, we compared differences in responses to NaCl in two Capsicum chinense varieties: Rex (tolerant) and Chichen-Itza (sensitive). Under salt stress (150 mM NaCl over 7 days) roots of Rex variety accumulated 50 times more compatible solutes such as proline compared to Chichen-I...
